Technical note

I learned a couple of days ago that a malware detector had blacklisted my site, so my webhost checked it out and gave the site a clean bill of health. But the fallout is that the malware detector was incorrectly preventing people from accessing the survey at survey.gendercensus.com.

That link will still work for most of you, but some of you might need to use this backup URL: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/GenderCensus2025/

Progress report

There have been over 22,000 responses so far! Within the first 24 hours, in the most intense hour there was a new response every 3.1 seconds. 🔥

About half of the responses are from Tumblr and well over half the responses are from the USA, so if you're able to share with any LGBTQ+ people/groups outside of that bubble it really does help to make the results more diverse and representative of more cultures. (Also people who aren't white and people over the age of 30, as usual!)

The good news is that over half of participants so far are new to the survey, and that will continue to increase as the survey-sharing ripples outwards. On that note, a big thank you to whoever put a Gender Census poster in a unisex restroom in Austria! That's the spirit ðŸš€

Graph of participation, showing the 2025 survey only a few days in, and progressing somewhere between the 2023 and 2025 trajectory.

We now have the traditional non-secret data spreadsheet you can snoop on, which I am updating at least twice a day.

If you would like to help with the sharing efforts, which is hugely appreciated and extremely helpful, you can:

This year we are also introducing channels on WhatsApp, Signal and Telegram. You can join them, and then more easily forward posts to friends.

Thank you everyone!
